One essential thing to consider is how much clothing storage space you need at the present time, plus what you might need in the future. This may be especially so with a growing family; for example, teenagers become more fashion conscious and start needing more storage space. Fortunately many of today's bedroom closet systems, so even if you underestimate, or your family's wardrobe grows quicker then expected, then you can usually add things like additional shelves, shoe rack, double hang closet rod or tie rack.
For a start, they can add to the décor; clothes out in the open are not particularly pretty, while sliding mirror doors, for example, can make the closet or bedroom look bigger and provide full length mirrors for trying your clothes on. If you choose to have doors, then you must decide if you want sliding doors or not; and if you want sliding doors, do you prefer bifold or bypass doors?
