Hidden beds are pushed up into a wall so that when it is up you don't even realize the bed is there. Usually you aren't going to have something in front of the bed when it is folded up so you can easily pull it down, although it is possible to still have light objects in front of the bed so it can be easily moved out of the way so you don't have to move much out of the way to access the wall beds.
If you travel, take the baby in to your room at night to sleep, or have a two-story house and want to have the baby downstairs during the day, a port-a-crib might be a great option. Some people even find that a port-a-crib can take the place of a fixed crib. A crib is the primary bed you want to buy for the "baby stage". Some good quality cribs even convert into various beds that grow with your child.
