With so many beds on the market, how do you choose the right one for your child and do you need all of them? Well you certainly don't need all of them. If you have more money than you know what to do with, you may choose to buy your child every type of bed out there. However, if you are looking for a way to save money, you can plan well and use one or two beds for the entire time your child is at home.
Many experts say that metal bunk beds are unsafe. This is because metal beds are not as sturdy and tend to wobble, dent and bend over the years due to weak joints. Essentially, a metal bunk bed may save you money but is not a good investment in the long run. Wood bunk beds are not without their problems. A good rule of thumb is the heavier the bed, the more likely it is to be sturdy and safe. Even with hardwood beds, screws and wing nuts can work loose over time. A properly designed bunk bed will have ample support braces to keep some of the pressure off of the bed's joints.
